I attended the opening gala for
California Design 1930-1965: "Living in a Modern Way", this past Wednesday night. The exhibition is one of the first large scale showings of Mid Century Modern design from California.

What an incredible pair of His 'n' Hers swimsuits. How could you not envision you and your significant other frolicking through the Malibu surf in these? This is just one example of the fabulous clothing on display. There are also great textiles...

I love this sombrero print, it has a festive color combination and an energetic pattern. There are also ceramics, metalwork, classic Mid Century Modern furnishings and examples of graphic and industrial design.

Also on display is the Eames House living room. Transported from the Palisades and painstakingly arranged for all to see. The exhibition runs from now until 3/25/12. Check it out and let us know what you think!
